Volleyball Falls at Ouachita Baptist 3-1

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Harding volleyball team fell to Ouachita Baptist 3-1 on Thursday night in Great American Conference action. The Lady Bisons fall to 17-6 overall and 8-2 in the GAC.

Errors doomed Harding from the first set. The Lady Bisons had 24 hitting errors and eight service errors in the match.

The Lady Tigers defense stayed solid throughout the match. OBU had 78 digs and 11 team blocks. Defensive specialist Allison Frizzell led the Lady Tigers with a match-high 25 digs. Megan Askew led OBU at the net with six blocks (three solo).

Harding out hit Ouachita Baptist in the match with a .181 hitting percentage to OBU's .176. It was the first time this season the Lady Bisons out hit their opponent and lost.  

The Lady Tigers were led by Askew who had 20 kills. Libby Harrington was the other OBU player in double-figure kills with 11.

Harding was led by sophomore outside hitter Mollie Arnold who had 20 kills and 19 digs. It was the third time this season Arnold has had over 20 kills in a match. Freshman outside hitter Kalyn Helton added 10 kills for the Lady Bisons.

The Harding defense was led by sophomore defensive specialist Weslynn Williams who had 19 digs.

The Lady Bisons will be back in action on Saturday as they host East Central at 2 p.m., in the Rhodes Field House in Great American Conference action.
