SEARCY – The Harding women's soccer team defeated Delta State 3-1 on Friday night in non-conference action at the Harding Soccer Field. The Lady Bisons improved to 4-10-1 overall.

Harding got on the board first in the 20th minute off a corner kick. Anne Fitzgerald found Mirlinda Lushi to give the Lady Bisons a 1-0 lead. It was Lushi's fourth goal of the season.

With 48 second remaining in the first half, Delta State tied the game when Katelynn Davis sent a through ball up the middle in which Hillary Ladner finished for her first goal of the season.

With a minute remaining in the game, Lauren Scharf had a shot that rebounded off the goalkeeper for sophomore forward Adriana Lucar to clean up. It was Lucar's team-leading 11th goal of the season.

The Lady Statesmen played with 10 players for the remaining 30 minutes of the game due to Jessie Reader receiving a straight red card.
