Volleyball Sweeps Christian Brothers 3-0

MEMPHIS – The Harding volleyball team defeated Christian Brothers on Tuesday night 3-0 in their final non-conference match of the season. The Lady Bisons improved to a 21-7 overall record.

Harding was tied at 22 after a Lady Bucs 4-1 run late in the third set. The Lady Bisons then sealed the win after two-straight kills and a team block to close the set and give HU the win.

HU outhit their opponent for the fifth straight match. The Lady Bisons had 41 kills, 11 errors on 122 attempts for a .246 hitting percentage. Harding's 11 errors tied for the lowest number since the Lady Bisons had 10 against Southern Arkansas earlier this season.

Harding was led by sophomore outside hitter Mollie Arnold who had 16 kills. Freshman outside hitter Kalyn Helton had 10 kills, one error on 22 attempts for a match-high .409 hitting percentage.  

Senior defensive specialist Amber Parker led the Lady Bisons defense with a match-high 23 digs. HU led at the net with eight total team blocks. Sophomore middle blocker Alyssa Short led the Lady Bisons with three. Six other Harding players finished with two or more blocks.

Freshman setter Taryn Eubank controlled the Lady Bisons offensive in the match and finished with 35 assists.

Christian Brothers (23-8) was led by Hailey Gillis and Hannah Kurtz who each had 10 kills. The Lady Bucs were led on defense by Corinne Doder who had 18 digs.

Harding will continue Great American Conference action on Thursday as they host Southwestern Oklahoma State at 7 p.m., at the Rhodes Field House.
