SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team wraps up their regular season on Saturday as they host Southeastern Oklahoma St., in Great American Conference action at 2 p.m., at the Rhodes Field House. After the match, the Lady Bisons will recognize three seniors for their contributions to the Harding volleyball program.
Harding (22-7, 12-3 GAC) has already sealed second place in the GAC standings and will play Southwestern Oklahoma St. next Friday (Nov. 11) in Russellville, Ark., in the first round of the GAC Tournament. Arkansas Tech won the regular season conference championship and will host the tournament.
The Lady Bisons are led by sophomore outside hitter Mollie Arnold who averages 3.93 kills (ranks third in the GAC) and 3.50 digs per set (ranks ninth in the GAC). Sophomore middle blocker Alyssa Short leads the team in hitting with a .301 hitting percentage (ranks fifth in the GAC).
Harding is led on defense by sophomore defensive specialist Weslynn Williams who averages 4.30 digs per set (ranks sixth in the GAC).
Southeastern Oklahoma St., heads into the match with a 14-17 overall record and 10-5 GAC record. The Savage Storm is led by Lunden Azuara who averages 4.71 kills (ranks first in the GAC) and 4.61 digs per set (ranks fourth in the GAC).
Harding leads the series between the two teams 12-0. When the two teams met in Durant, Okla., earlier this season, the Lady Bisons swept the Savage Storm 3-0.
Amber Parker, Alex Smith and Jordan Smith are the only seniors on this year's squad and will be recognized after the match.
