SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team opens Great American Conference on the road as they travel to Arkadelphia, Ark., to face Henderson State on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Lady Bisons head into the match with a 9-1 record.
Since joining the NCAA in 1997, Harding is 13-1 in conference openers.
The Lady Bisons are led by sophomore outside hitter Mollie Arnold who averages 3.94 kills (ranking her second in the GAC) and 3.29 digs per set. Sophomore middle blocker Alyssa Short leads HU with a .318 hitting percentage.
The Harding defense is led by sophomore defensive specialist Weslynn Williams who averages 4.03 digs per set, ranking her fifth in the GAC.
As a team, the Lady Bisons average 13.4 kills, first in the GAC, and 16.4 digs per set, second in the GAC.
Henderson State heads into the match with a 2-7 record after going 2-2 in the Alabama-Huntsville Tournament this past weekend. The Lady Reddies are led by Ty Lindberg who averages 4.17 kills per set, ranking her first in the GAC.
It will be the 62nd meeting between the two schools. Harding leads the series 39-22 and has won the last three meetings.
