SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Harding women's soccer team fell 2-1 to Drury on Tuesday in non-conference action at the Cooper Sports Complex. The Lady Bisons fall to 1-2 on the season.
The Panthers got on the board first in the 28th minute when Kara Steiner hit Nicole Williams on a give-and-go pass. Williams found the bottom right corner of the net for her four goal of the season.
Less than a minute later the Lady Bisons answered back. Sophomore forward Adriana Lucar hit a streaking Lauren Scharf in the goal mouth for her first goal of the season.
The two teams took a 1-1 tie into halftime.
Drury's game winning goal came in the 77th minute when Lindsey Sprouse turned in the top middle of the box and hit Williams for her second goal of the day.
In the final minute of the contest Harding had one last chance after a Panther yellow card outside the 18 yard box but the free kick went high and time expired.
Freshman goalkeeper Danielle Nonaka had six saves in the game.
The Lady Bisons will be back in action on Friday as they host Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 7 p.m., at the Harding Soccer Field.
