ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Harding volleyball team opened Great American Conference action with a 3-0 win Tuesday night at Henderson State. It was the fifth straight win by the Lady Bisons as they improved to 10-1 on the season.

Harding has won 13 straight conference openers dating back to 1999.

Sophomore outside hitter Mollie Arnold captured her seventh double-double of the season with 14 kills and 13 digs.

The Lady Bisons defense held the Lady Reddies to a -.026 hitting percentage as they forced 26 hitting errors and had 52 digs. Sophomore defensive specialist Weslynn Williams was the other Harding player in double-figure digs with 12.

Senior middle blocker Alex Smith led the Lady Bisons in hitting with seven kills on two errors on 12 attempts for a .417 hitting percentage.

Henderson State (2-8, 0-1 GAC) was led by Ty Lindberg who had 10 kills and 13 digs. The Lady Reddies had 10 blocks in the match.

Harding will continue GAC action on Thursday as they host Ouachita Baptist at 4 p.m., at the Rhodes Field House.
