Women’s Soccer Falls to UAPB, 4-1

SEARCY – The Harding women's soccer team fell to Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Friday in non-conference action 4-1. The Lady Bisons fall to 1-3-0 on the season.

Harding is now 1-1 on the season against NCAA Division I opponents as they defeated Texas Southern 2-0 to open the season.   

The Lady Tigers got on the board first in the fourth minute when Rachel Harker hit Silvia Fuentes on a through ball up the middle. Fuentes answered again the 26th minute when she received a pass from Molly Stone from the right side for her sixth goal of the season. She also had an assist on the third goal when she sent a cross to Molly Stone who headed the ball in the back of the net.

UAPB found the back of the net in the 56th minute when HU committed a foul in the box. Erika Forbes converted the penalty kick for her first goal of the season.

The Lady Bisons averted the shutout in the 74th minute when freshman midfielder Mirlinda Lushi found sophomore forward Adriana Lucar on a through ball. Lucar hit the lower left corner of the net for her third goal of the season.

The Lady Tigers outshot the Lady Bisons 22-12.

Harding freshman goalkeeper Danielle Nonaka had a career-high eight saves.

The Lady Bisons will be back in action on Sunday as they travel to Conway, Ark., to face Hendrix at 2 p.m.
