Volleyball Travels to East Central on Saturday

SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team travels to Oklahoma for the first time this season as they face East Central in Great American Conference action on Saturday at 2 p.m., in Ada. The Lady BIsons head into the match with an 11-1 overall record and a 2-0 GAC record.

It's the first time Harding has traveled to Oklahoma since 2006 when they faced Southeastern Oklahoma State. Since joining the NCAA Division II in 1997, Harding is 9-7 in the state of Oklahoma.

Harding has won their last six straight matches.

As a team, the Lady Bisons led the GAC in four categories – hitting percentage (.233), opponent hitting percentage (.115), assists (12.6) and kills (13.4).

The Lady Bisons are led by sophomore outside hitter Mollie Arnold who averages 4.00 kills and 3.40 digs per set. Arnold has had a double-double in every conference match this season.

East Central heads into Saturday's matchup with a 3-8 overall record. It will be the first conference match for the Lady Tigers.  ECU averages 11.3 kills and 17.3 digs per set. They are led by Noelle Cope who averages 3.04 kills and 2.30 digs per set. The Lady Tigers are second in the GAC in blocks, averaging two a set.

Harding leads the series between the two teams 1-0. The meeting took place in Denton, Texas at the Texas Women's Invitational in 2009. The Lady Bisons won 3-1.
