Arnold Leads Lady Bison Volleyball to Seventh Straight Win

ADA, Okla. – The Harding volleyball team extended their winning streak to seven games on Saturday as they defeated East Central 3-1 in Great American Conference action. The Lady Bisons improved to 12-1 on the season and 3-0 in the GAC.

Sophomore outside hitter Mollie Arnold continued her great GAC play as she captured her third straight double-double with 16 kills and 17 digs. Freshman outside hitter Kalyn Helton was the other Lady Bison in double-figure kills with 12.

Harding had a conference-high 90 digs in the match. Four Lady Bison finished in double-figure digs. Along with Arnold, sophomore defensive-specialist Weslynn Williams led HU as she tied a career high with 27. Senior defensive specialist Amber Parker had a season-high 18 and junior setter Amber Schinzing also had a season high with 12.

The Lady Bisons continued their great defensive play at the net as they had a season-high 12 team blocks. Senior middle blocker Alex Smith led the way with a career-high eight blocks. Junior right side hitter Bailee Graham also had a career high with four.

Schinzing led the HU offense in the match with 36 assists. It was the 16th time in her career she has captured a double-double.   

East Central (3-9 overall and 0-1 GAC) had four players in double-figure scoring. Danielle Essix led the Lady Tigers with 16.  

Harding will continue GAC play on Tuesday as they travel to Arkansas-Monticello. First serve is at 7 p.m.
