SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team continues Great American Conference action on Thursday as they host Southern Arkansas at 7 p.m., in the Rhodes Field House. The Lady Bisons head into the match with a 13-1 overall record and 4-0 record in the GAC.
Harding looks to extend their winning streak to nine, after a 3-0 win over Arkansas-Monticello on Tuesday. Dating back to last season, HU has won their last eight conference matches.
The Lady Bisons are led by sophomore outside hitter Mollie Arnold who averages 4.00 kills (ranks 2nd in the GAC) and 3.40 digs per set (ranks 8th in the GAC).
As a team, Harding leads the GAC in three of the seven categories – opponent hitting percentage (.118), assists (12.57) and kills per set (13.55). They are second in two other categories – hitting percentage (.225) and digs per set (17.25).
The Lady Bisons are led on defense by sophomore defensive specialist Weslynn Williams who averages 4.34 digs per set (ranks 4th in GAC).
Southern Arkansas heads into the match with a 6-5 overall record and a 1-2 GAC record. Their only conference win came against Southeastern Oklahoma earlier this season. The Lady Muleriders are led by Jordan White who averages 2.97 kills per set. The defense is led by Kahli Remy who averages 3.53 digs per set.
HU leads the series between the two teams 36-27. The Lady Bisons have who the last 11 meetings.
