Volleyball Sweeps Southern Arkansas 3-0

Sophomore middle blocker Alyssa Short led with nine kills, no errors on 16 attempts for a season-high .562 hitting percentage.

SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team had a season-high .353 hitting percentage as they defeated Southern Arkansas 3-0 in Great American Conference action on Thursday night. The Lady Bisons extend their winning streak to nine matches as they improved to 14-1 on the season and 5-0 in the GAC.

Harding had three players hit over .400 in the match. Sophomore middle blocker Alyssa Short led with nine kills, no errors on 16 attempts for a season-high .562 hitting percentage. Short has hit over .400 ten times this season. Senior middle blocker Alex Smith hit .444 and freshman outside hitter Kalyn Helton had a .417 hitting percentage.

Sophomore outside hitter Mollie Arnold captured her tenth double-double on the season with 12 kills and 12 digs for the Lady Bisons. Arnold has had a double-double in every conference match this season.

 Harding had eight total team blocks in the match. Smith led HU as she tied a season high with four.

HU scored 16 times on SAU's 17 serves in the third set.

Southern Arkansas (6-6, 1-3 GAC) was led by Courtney Smith who had 10 kills.

The Lady Bisons will hit the road on Monday as they travel to Springfield, Mo., to face Drury at 6 p.m., in non-conference action.
