SEARCY – The Harding women's soccer team takes a break from Great American Conference action Tuesday as they host Delta State at 5 p.m., at the Harding Soccer Field. The game was originally scheduled to be played in Cleveland, Miss., but due to weather the game has been moved to Searcy.
The Lady Bisons enter the game with a 4-3-1 overall record. Out of the remaining eight games, Harding will only face one more non-conference opponent. The Lady Bisons will host Hendrix on Oct. 16.
Harding looks to extend their win streak to six games Tuesday. The Lady Bisons are coming off a 2-1 overtime win over Ouachita Baptist last Friday. Freshman forward Audrey Adkison had the game winning goal four minutes into overtime. Harding is 4-4 this season in overtime games.
Delta State, a NCAA Division II member of the Gulf South Conference, heads into the game with a 2-7-0 record after dropping their last five games. North Alabama defeated the Lady Statesmen 4-1 last Sunday. DSU is led by Lauren May and Payten Pearson who each have three goals. Pearson also has two assists for the Lady Statesmen.
Harding leads the series between the two teams 8-1-0. The Lady Bisons have won the last three meetings, scoring three goals in each game. HU defeated DSU 3-1 last season in Searcy.
