Volleyball Set to Host Henderson State on Tuesday

SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team looks to stay perfect in Great American Conference action Tuesday as they host Henderson State at 7 p.m., at the Rhodes Field House. The Lady Bisons are tied with Southern Arkansas for first in the conference standings with a 5-0 record.

Harding is also looking for their third straight win after defeating East Central 3-1 and Southeastern Oklahoma State 3-0 last weekend.

Junior outside hitter Mollie Arnold and senior setter Amber Schinzing both led HU in the matches as they finished with a double-double.  Arnold combined for 28 kills and 30 digs and Schinzing had 77 assists and 26 digs. Arnold ranks first in the GAC in kills averaging 3.84 a set

The two teams met earlier this season in Arkadelphia, Ark. Harding defeated Henderson State 3-0. The Lady Bisons finished with a .212 hitting percentage as nine HU players were credited with a kill. Harding held HSU to a .080 hitting percentage, forcing 12 hitting errors and nine service errors. The Lady Bisons lead the series 42-22.

Henderson State (3-10) is still looking for their first GAC win. The Lady Reddies have been swept 3-0 in their last four outings. Junior outside hitter Ty Lindberg leads HSU averaging 2.74 kills and 3.20 digs per set.

Harding ranks second in the GAC in four categories – hitting percentage (.198), opponent hitting percentage (.151), assists (12.16) and kills (13.33).
