Lady Bison Volleyball Defeats Union 3-0 on Thursday

SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team won their final non-conference match of the season as they defeated Union 3-0 on Thursday at the Rhodes Field House. The Lady Bisons improved to 16-6 overall and 10-6 against non-conference opponents.

HU took a 9-2 lead in the first set and didn't look back as the Lady Bisons won 25-17, 25-17 and 25-16.

Three Harding players had over 10 kills in the match as junior outside hitter Mollie Arnold led with 14. Sophomore outside hitter Marindia Turner captured her first career double-double with 12 kills and a career-high 13 digs. Sophomore middle blocker Liv Savage had 11 kills and led HU in hitting with a .667 hitting percentage.

Junior defensive specialist Lisa Copeland led the HU defense with 18 digs.

Union (3-13) was led by Lydia Wright and Abby Wainwright who both had seven kills. Wright also had 13 digs.

The Lady Bisons forced 20 hitting errors and held the Lions to a .052 hitting percentage.

Harding will be back in action Saturday as they host Southern Nazarene in Great American Conference action a 2 p.m., at the Rhodes Field House.
