Volleyball hosts Southern Nazarene on Saturday at 2 p.m.

SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team looks for their seventh straight Great American Conference win Saturday as they host Southern Nazarene at 2 p.m., at the Rhodes Field House. The Lady Bisons are tied with Southern Arkansas for first place in the GAC standings.

Harding hasn't played a GAC match in 12 days. HU defeated Henderson State on Oct. 2 in Searcy. The Lady Bisons five previous matches have been against non-conference opponents.

Harding is coming off a 3-0 win over Union on Thursday in Searcy. Junior outside hitter Mollie Arnold led HU with 14 kills. Sophomore outside hitter Marindia Turner captured her first career double-double with 12 kills and a career-high 13 digs. Sophomore middle blocker Liv Savage had 11 kills and led HU in hitting with a .667 hitting percentage.

Mollie Arnold ranks first in the GAC and 19th in Division II in kills, averaging 4.00 a set.

Southern Nazarene heads into the match with an 8-13 overall record and a 5-1 GAC record. The Crimson Storm has lost their last four matches. SNU has won their last two conference matches. Southern Nazarene defeated Henderson State 3-0 and Ouachita Baptist 3-1. SNU will play at Arkansas Tech on Friday. The Crimson Storm is led by Natalia Oliveira who averages 2.43 kills per set and 3.84 digs per set.

It will be the first meeting between the two teams. Southern Nazarene was a member of the NAIA and is on provisional membership status with the GAC this season.
