Volleyball Defeats Southern Nazarene 3-0 on Saturday

SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team stayed perfect in Great American Conference play Saturday as they defeated Southern Nazarene 3-0 at the Rhodes Field House. The Lady Bisons improved to 17-6 overall and 7-0 in the GAC.

Harding defeated the Crimson Storm 25-12, 25-18, 25-12.

Harding is tied with Southern Arkansas for first place in the GAC standings. SAU defeated East Central 3-2 on Saturday.

Harding was led by sophomore outside hitter Marindia Turner who had 11 kills. Turner also led HU in hitting with a .429 hitting percentage. Junior outside hitter Mollie Arnold had 10 kills.

Junior defensive specialist Lisa Copeland led the Harding defense with 17 digs. Junior middle blocker Alyssa Short led HU at the net with five blocks. The Harding defense held SNU to a .062 hitting percentage. HU also forced 18 hitting errors.

Southern Nazarene (8-15, 5-3 GAC) was led by Nicole Greenway and Kira Roberts who each had seven kills.

Harding wore pink jersey's during the match in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Weekend.

The Lady Bisons will continue Great American Conference action Tuesday as they travel to Arkansas-Monticello. First serve is at 7 p.m.
