Lady Bison Volleyball Sweeps Northwestern Oklahoma State 3-0

SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team defeated Northwestern Oklahoma State 3-0 on Thursday in non-conference action. The Lady Bisons improved to 19-6 overall and won their fifth straight with game scores of 25-13, 25-12 and 25-16.

It was the second-straight match that Harding hit over .300. The Lady Bisons had 42 kills on 93 attempts with 10 hitting errors for a .344 hitting percentage. In the 3-0 win at Arkansas-Monticello on Tuesday, the Lady Bisons hit .318.

Harding was led by junior middle blocker Alyssa Short and senior right-side hitter Bailee Graham who both had eight kills. Graham hit .583 with eight kills and one error on 12 attacks, and Short hit .500 with eight kills and one error on 14 attacks.

Junior defensive specialist Lisa Copeland led the HU defense with 12 digs.

Northwestern Oklahoma State (1-21) was led by Brenda Gai Santos who had five kills.

The Lady Bisons held the Rangers to a .030 hitting percentage, forcing 19 hitting errors and allowing only 22 kills.

The two teams will play their Great American Conference match on Nov. 3 in Alva, Okla.

Harding will be back in action Saturday as they host Southwestern Oklahoma State at 2 p.m., at the Rhodes Field House.
