SEARCY – The Harding women's soccer team dropped their first Great American Conference game on Friday as they fell to No. 9 Southwestern Oklahoma State 4-0 at the Harding Soccer Field. The Lady Bisons fall to 4-4-2 overall and 2-1-1 in the GAC.
Harding had the first scoring opportunity of the game in the 18th minute when junior midfielder Ashley Royce took a shot that hit off the crossbar and bounced right to Audrey Adkison who took a shot that was saved by SWOSU's goalkeeper Corey LaMoureaux. Southwestern Oklahoma State didn't allow the Lady Bisons to take another shot on frame the rest of the game.
The Bulldogs (11-0-0, 4-0-0 GAC ) scored their first goal in the 32nd minute when Kira Bertrand dropped a pass back to Josie Price who found the back of the net.
Southwestern Oklahoma State scored six minutes later on a poor clearance that Ashlee Beitinger picked up for her first goal of the season.
Harding trailed 2-0 at halftime.
Kelsey Visor scored the third goal by the Bulldogs in the 67th minute. Visor then scored her second goal of the game in the three minutes on a throughball up the middle.
The Lady Bisons will be back in action on Sunday as they host Northwestern Oklahoma State at 1 p.m., at the Harding Soccer Field.
