Lady Bison Soccer Falls to No. 18 Southwestern Oklahoma State in GAC Tournament

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The Harding women's soccer team fell to No. 18 Southwestern Oklahoma State 4-0 on Friday in the semifinals of the Great American Conference Tournament. The Lady Bisons end their season with a 7-9-2 overall record and a 4-5-1 GAC record.

Southwestern Oklahoma State was the No. 1 seed in the tournament after winning the regular season with a 9-0-1 conference record. The Bulldogs advance to take on Ouachita Baptist in the championship game on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Bulldogs (18-0-1) got on the board in the 12th minute when Paige Doherty found Cori Kelly to give SWOSU a 1-0 lead.

Harding trailed 1-0 at halftime.

Southwestern Oklahoma State took a 2-0 lead in the 62nd minute when Kelsey Visor found  Josie Price (GAC Offensive Player of the Year) for her ninth goal of the season.

SWOSU put the game out of reach in the 71st minute when Miranda Balezentis found the back of the net.

The Bulldogs scored their fourth goal in the 87th minute when Paige Doherty dribbled through the HU defense and found the right side of the net.

SWOSU held Harding to only one shot. HU forward Jenna Taylor took a shot that was saved by Southwestern Oklahoma State's goalkeeper in the 83rd minute.
