Lady Bisons Fall in Opener to Christian Brothers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Harding women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Christian Brothers on Thursday in non-conference action. The Lady Bisons fall to 0-1 on the season.

The Lady Bucs (1-0) got on the board in the fourth minute when Mariana Tonelli dribbled across the top of the box and found the lower right corner of the net.

Christian Brothers held HU to only two shots in the first half as they took the lead into the break.

Two minutes into the second half Tonelli got her second goal of the season as she found the back of the net off a free kick from the right corner of play to put CBU up 2-0.

The Lady Bucs had 17 shots to the Lady Bisons six.

Sophomore goalkeeper Danielle Nonaka had six saves for Harding.

HU will be back in action on Saturday as they host John Brown in non-conference action at 5 p.m., at the Harding Soccer Field.
