SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team continues Great American Conference action this weekend has they travel to Oklahoma to face East Central at 7 p.m., on Friday and Southeastern Oklahoma State at 7 p.m., on Saturday. The Lady Bisons look to remain perfect in conference with a 3-0 record.
Harding took a break from conference action Tuesday as they traveled to Arkansas-Fort Smith. The Lady Bisons jumped out to take a 1-0 lead in the match but dropped the next three (21-25, 16-25, 12-25). The loss snapped a seven match winning streak.
Junior outside hitter Mollie Arnold and senior setter Amber Schinzing both had a double-double in the match. Arnold, GAC kills per set leader (3.82), finished with 13 kills and a season-high 19 digs and Schinzing had 41 assists and 11 digs for the Lady Bisons.
East Central is also 3-0 in the GAC as they defeated SW Oklahoma State (3-2), SE Oklahoma State (3-1) and NW Oklahoma State (3-1). The Tigers, 5-9 overall, are led by Tatiana Booth who averages 2.60 kills per set. Harding leads the series 3-0.
Southeastern Oklahoma State heads into the weekend with a 2-9 overall record and a 1-1 GAC record. The Savage Storm will host Arkansas Tech on Friday before hosting Harding on Saturday. SOSU's only GAC win came against Northwestern Oklahoma State (3-0). The Savage Storm has two players that average over three kills per set – Megan Kunkel (3.03) and Emily Gentle (3.00). Harding leads the series 13-0.
