Women's Soccer by Nathan Looney

Harding Women’s Soccer Hosts No. 18 Southwestern Okla., Northwestern Okla. this Weekend

Harding (3-8-1, 2-4-0 GAC) vs. No. 18 Southwestern Okla. (9-2-2, 5-0-1 GAC), Friday at 7 p.m.

Harding vs. Northwestern Okla. (1-14-0, 0-7-0 GAC), Sunday at 1 p.m.

 

Harding

- Harding starts a four game home stand on Friday as they host No. 18 Southwestern Okla. at Stevens Soccer Field. All four games will be Great American Conference games.

- The Lady Bisons are coming off a 1-0 GAC win at Ouachita Baptist last Friday. Freshman midfielder Averie Albirght scored HU's goal. The win was Harding's second GAC win as they currently sit in fifth place in the GAC standings. The top four teams advance to the GAC Tournament.

- Senior forward Jenna Taylor leads Harding with four goals and one assist. Sophomore midfielder Audrey Adkison has two goals and a team leading three assists.

- Harding is coached by Dr. Greg Harris, who is in his 13th season as head coach of the Lady Bisons.

No. 18 Southwestern Oklahoma

- Southwestern Oklahoma is located in Weatherford, Okla., and has an enrollment of 4,297.

- The Lady Bulldogs have won their last four games as they head into the game ranked first in the GAC standings with a 9-2-2 overall record and 5-0-1 GAC record.

- SWOSU is led by senior forward Kelsey Visor and sophomore midfielder Alexis Russell who each have five goals. Russell also has three assists on the season.

- Southwestern Okla. leads the series between the two teams, 7-4-0. When the two teams met earlier this season in Weatherford, SWOSU won 4-2.

- Harding is 4-26-1 against ranked teams.

Northwestern Oklahoma

- Northwestern Oklahoma is located in Alva, Okla., and has enrollment of 2,135.

- The Rangers are coming off a 2-0 loss to Southern Nazarene on Sunday. NWOSU has lost its last 10 games.

- It will be the Rangers first road game in five games. The Rangers will play at Ouachita Baptist on Friday before traveling to Searcy.

- Northwestern Okla. is led by junior Emily Witty who has three goals.

- HU leads the series 3-0-0. When the two teams met in Alva earlier this season Harding recorded its first shutout of the season as HU won 3-0.
