Harding: Larkin Hatcher – First Career Game Winning goal

SEARCY – Sophomore midfielder Larkin Hatcher scored the game winning goal as the Harding women's soccer team defeated No. 18 Southwestern Oklahoma 1-0 in Great American Conference action on Friday. It was the Lady Bisons second straight win as they improve to 4-8-1 overall and 3-4-0 in the GAC.

It was Harding's first win over a ranked opponent since 2006 as the Lady Bisons defeated No. 18 Barry on the road 3-0.

Hatcher's goal came in the 71st minute as a defensive miscue led to the goal. Hatcher's shot came from 40 yards out and hit the crossbar before finding the back of the net. It was her first goal of the season and her four career goal. It was also her first game winning goal.

It was Southwestern Oklahoma's first conference loss this season as they fell to 9-3-2 overall and 5-1-1 in the GAC. It was also the Lady Bulldogs' first conference loss since the 2011 season as SWOSU went 9-0-1 last season in the GAC. The last time HU beat Southwestern was in 2008 in Weatherford, Okla., as HU won 5-0.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kaitlyn Miller had four saves and recorded her second consecutive shutout as HU defeated Ouachita Baptist 1-0 last Friday in Arkadelphia, Ark.

Harding will be back in action on Sunday as they host Northwestern Oklahoma at 1 p.m., at the Stevens Soccer Complex.
