Harding Volleyball Hosts East Central; Southeastern Oklahoma this Weekend

Harding (12-5, 3-0 GAC) vs. East Central (6-6, 3-0 GAC), Friday at 7 p.m.

Harding vs. Southeastern Oklahoma (6-6, 1-2 GAC), Saturday at 2 p.m.

Harding

- Harding is coming off a 3-0 non-conference win over Lyon on Tuesday. HU looks to extend their Great American Conference win streak this weekend as they have won 19 straight dating back to the 2011 season. During that time, the Lady Bisons have also won 19 straight home matches.

- Since the 3-2 loss against No. 11 Wasburn on Sept. 21st, Harding has won four straight.

- Senior outside hitter Mollie Arnold leads the team and the GAC in kills per set with an average of 4.19. Arnold also ranks 15th among all NCAA Division II. She also averages 3.21 digs per set. Senior middle blocker Alyssa Short averages 2.05 kills and leads the team in hitting with a .321 hitting percentage.

- The Harding defense is led by senior defensive specialist Lisa Copeland (reigning GAC Defensive Player of the Week) who averages a GAC leading 5.22 digs per set. Junior middle blocker Liv Savage ranks third in the GAC in blocks averaging 1.03 a set.

- As a team, Harding leads the GAC in kills (13.02), assists (12.12) and digs (17.91).

- Harding is coached by Meredith Fear, who is in her second season as head coach of the Lady Bisons.

East Central

- East Central heads into the match with a four game winning streak and a undefeated conference record. ECU's GAC wins came against Southwestern Okla. (3-0), Southeastern Okla. (3-1) and Northwestern Okla. (3-1).

- East Central is led by senior outside hitter Danielle Essix who averages 2.74 kills per set. Senior defensive specialist Taylor Brown leads the ECU defense, averaging 3.71 digs per set.

- The Lady Tigers are coached by Dave Thorn who is in his sixth season and is the only head coach in ECU program history. He has compiled a 54-111 record in five seasons.

- Harding leads the series between the two teams 4-0.

Southeastern Oklahoma

- Southeastern Oklahoma heads into the weekend with a 6-6 overall record and a 1-2 GAC record. The Savage Storm's only GAC win came against Northwestern Oklahoma. SOSU won 3-1. SOSU will play at Arkansas Tech on Friday before meeting Harding on Saturday.

- Southeastern Oklahoma is led by junior outside hitter Emily Gentle who averages 4.00 kills per set which ranks third in the GAC. The Savage Storm has two players that average over three digs a set. Senior defensive specialist Taylor Benner averages 3.80 digs ranking her fifth in the GAC and Megan Kunkel averages 3.16.

- SOSU is coached by Jenn King who is in her fourth season at the helm. King has compiled a 29-52 record at Southeastern Okla.

- Harding leads the series between the two teams 15-0.
