Lady Bison Soccer Takes on Southwestern Oklahoma in the GAC Tournament Finals

No. 3 Harding (8-8-1) vs. No.1 Southwestern Oklahoma (12-4-2)

Harding

- Harding advanced to the tournament finals after defeating Ouachita Baptist 1-0 on Friday. It was the Lady Bisons first GAC Tournament win.

- Harding will be making its first conference final appearance since the 2004 season when HU fell to Christian Brothers 4-3 in overtime in Oxford, Miss.

- Harding has won six straight games as they head into the game with an 8-8-1 overall record and the No. 3 seed after going 6-4-0 in the GAC this season. During the winning streak, the Lady Bisons have posted four shutouts.

- The Lady Bisons are averaging 12.0 shots per game. Senior forward Jenna Taylor leads HU in goals with four. Sophomore midfielder Audrey Adkison, freshman forward McKenna Smith and sophomore midfielder Melissa Minnich all have three goals for HU. Adkison and Smith lead the Lady Bisons in assists with three.

- Harding is coached by Dr. Greg Harris, who is in his 13th season as head coach of the Lady Bisons.

Southwestern Oklahoma

- Southwestern Oklahoma is located in Weatherford, Okla., and has an enrollment of about 5.340 students.

- The Lady Bulldogs enter the game with a 12-4-2 overall record. SWOSU earned the No. 1 seed in the tournament after winning the GAC regular season with a 7-1-1 record. Southwestern Oklahoma's only conference loss came against Harding in Searcy.   

- SWOSU defeated East Central 5-0 in the semifinals to advance to the tournament finals.

- At home this season the Lady Bulldogs are 7-1-1.

- SWOSU is led by sophomore forward Miranda Balezentis who has seven goals.

- Southwestern Oklahoma is coached by Mark Persson

The Series

- Southwestern Oklahoma leads the series between the two teams 7-4-0. The teams split during the regular season. SWOSU won in Weatherford 4-2 and HU won in Searcy 1-0. The Lady Bulldogs have only been shutout three times season.

- It will be the second time the two teams have met in the conference tournament. SWOSU defeated Harding in the semifinals of the GAC Tournament last season 4-0.
