CONWAY, Ark. – Sophomore midfielder Sierra Hollingsworth found the back of the net in the second overtime as the Harding women's soccer team defeated Hendrix 2-1 in non-conference action on Tuesday. Harding improved to 1-4 on the season.
Out of Harding's last eight wins (dating back to last season), the Lady Bisons have won five in overtime.
Senior forward Jenna Taylor hit a blast from 25 yards out to put the Lady Bisons up 1-0 in the 71st minute. It was Taylor's second goal of the season.
Hendrix (4-3-1) got the equalizer in the 82 minute when Samantha Lallas found the back of the net.
After playing the first overtime without a goal, Harding ended the game when freshman midfielder McKenna Smith found a wide open Hollingsworth for the game winner. It was Hollingsworth's first goal of the season and her first career game winner.
After only four shots in the first half, Harding fired 13 in the second half and four in the first overtime. Nine of HU's 22 total shots were on frame.
Sophomore goalkeeper Kaitlyn Miller had four saves.
Harding will wrap up its two-game road trip as they travel to Denton, Texas to face Texas Woman's at 7:30 p.m., on Friday.
