Harding Women’s Soccer Plays Two this Weekend

Harding (1-4-1, 0-0-0 GAC) vs. Ouachita Baptist (5-0, 0-0-0 GAC), Friday at 7 p.m.

Harding at Delta State (2-4-1), Sunday at 1 p.m.

 

Harding

- Harding is coming off a 1-1 tie at Texas Woman's last Friday. Before that, the Lady Bisons defeated Hendrix 2-1 in double-overtime.

- Junior midfielder Sierra Hollingsworth scored the game winning goal against Hendrix and had the only goal against Texas Woman's. Her performance in those games earned her Great American Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

- Harding will open GAC action against Ouachita Baptist on Friday. HU won last season's conference opener as they defeated East Central in double-overtime 2-1. Since joining the NCAA in 1997, HU is 4-11 in conference openers.

- Harding is coached by Dr. Greg Harris, who is in his 13th season as head coach of the Lady Bisons.

Ouachita Baptist

- Ouachita Baptist is a member of the NCAA Division II Great American Conference and has an enrollment of about 1,600 students.

- The Tigers are coming off a 3-1 victory over Rogers St., on Sept. 14th. OBU has scored at least two goals in every contest this season and averaging three goals a game.

- Ouachita Baptist is led by sophomore forward Haley Hatcher who has eight goals and one assists for the Tigers.

- Harding leads the series between the two teams 9-6-2. OBU has won three out of the last four games.

Delta State

- Delta State is a member of the NCAA Division II Gulf South Conference and has an enrollment of 2,756 students.

- The Lady Statesmen are coming off a 3-2 win against Millsaps on Tuesday. It will be DSU's fifth straight home match on Sunday.

- Delta State is led by junior forward Lauren May who has four goals for DSU. Freshman midfielder Tabitha Hayden leads the Lady Statesmen in assists with three.

- Harding leads the series 8-1-1. HU tied DSU 1-1 last season in Searcy. Before that, the Lady Bisons won three straight games.
