Harding Women’s Soccer Falls to Drury 3-1 in Season Opener

SEARCY – The Harding women's soccer team fell to Drury 3-1 to open the season on Thursday at Stevens Field. The Lady Bisons fall to 0-1-0 on the season.

Drury got on the board first as senior forward Jennifer Rogers found forward Emily Cline to put the Panthers up 1-0 in the 11th minute. In the 16th minute, junior forward Shelby Hatz found Mariah Gove for the eventual game-winner for Drury.

Panther Jennifer Rogers took a corner in the 29th minute that was headed by midfielder Sarah Duffy to Elle Kekec in the middle of the goal. Kekec then headed it into the back of the net.

Harding's only goal came in the 75th minute when sophomore midfielder Audrey Adkison took a shot that was saved by Drury goalkeeper Kelsey Vaught but the save went right to senior midfielder Ashley Martin who kneed the ball into the net for her fourth career goal.

The Lady Bisons will be back in action on Sunday as they host Northeastern State at 1 p.m., at Stevens Field.
