Harding Women’s Soccer Hosts Southern Nazarene on Saturday

SEARCY – The Harding women's soccer game that was scheduled for today against Southern Nazarene has been postponed until Sunday due to weather. The game will kickoff at 12 p.m.

SEARCY – The Harding women's soccer team will play its fourth of a five game homestand on Saturday as they host Southern Nazarene in Great American Conference action at 1 p.m., on Saturday. The Lady Bisons head into the game with a 4-8-0 overall and 4-0-0 GAC record.

HARDING

The Lady Bisons look to improve on a nine game GAC winning streak on Saturday which is the longest conference win streak in Harding history. The streak dates back to last season. Southwestern Oklahoma holds the GAC record with 16. The most they went without tying was seven. The Bulldogs had seven wins, a tie, four wins, a tie and then three wins.

Harding is coming off its first shutout of the season. The Lady Bisons defeated East Central 3-0 on Thursday. Three different players scored for Harding – Adair Schmidt, Averie Albright and Katelyn Tschiggfrie.

The Lady Bisons are 3-5-0 at the home this season.

Harding is led by junior midfielder Audrey Adkison who ranks tied for third in the GAC with five goals. She also ranks second in the GAC in assists with five. Junior midfielder Adair Schmidt has four goals and one assist for the Lady Bisons. Sophomore midfielder Averie Albright has two goals and five other Harding players have at least one goal.

The Lady Bisons are averaging 12.9 shots per game and 1.33 goals per game.

Harding leads the GAC in conference games in goals with 13. It is five more than second place Southwestern Oklahoma and Southern Nazarene. The Lady Bisons also lead in assists with nine.

Harding is coached by Dr. Greg Harris who is in his 14th season at the helm.

SOUTHERN NAZARENE

Southern Nazarene is located in Bethany, Okla., and has an enrollment of 2,110.

The Crimson Storm head into the game with a 4-7-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the GAC. Southern Nazarene has lost its last three games. The Crimson Storm's last win came against Northwestern Oklahoma 2-0.

Southern Nazarene is coming off a 3-2 loss at Ouachita Baptist on Thursday. Senior forward Mallary Pinada scored both goals for the Crimson Storm.

Southern Nazarene has scored 18 goals on the season which ranks third in the GAC. Pinada leads the Crimson Storm with seven. Sophomore forward Alyssa Glitzke as scored three goals and three other players have scored two goals.

Southern Nazarene is coached by Julie Duncan who is in her fifth season as head coach.

SERIES

The Crimson Storm led the series between the two teams 2-1-2.

Harding won the last meeting 3-2 in Searcy. It will only be the third time the two teams have played in Searcy.
