BATESVILLE, Ark.- The Harding volleyball team defeated Lyon 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 27-25) in non-conference action on Thursday. The Lady Bisons improve to 14-6 on the season.
Harding was led by junior outside hitter Molly Howard who had 10 kills hitting .304. The Lady Bisons defense was led by sophomore defensive specialist Anna Leigh Cargile who had a match-high 17 digs.
Harding hit .333 in the match with 41 kills and 11 errors on 90 total attempts. The Lady Bisons hit .424 in the first set with 16 kills and .409 in the second set with 12 kills.
Lyon (8-14) was led by sophomore middle blocker Katarina Frickleton who had 10 kills. The Scots defense was led by Carson Ward who had seven digs.
Harding held Lyon to hitting .120. The Lady Bisons forced the Scots to 21 hitting errors.
Harding improved its road record to 6-4.
The Lady Bisons will resume Great American Conference action on Saturday as they travel to Alva, Okla. to face Northwestern Oklahoma. First serve is at 11 a.m.
