SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team is set to host Henderson State in Great American Conference action at 7 p.m., at the Rhodes Field House on Thursday. The Lady Bisons head into the match with a 10-5 overall record and a 5-2 GAC record.
Harding
Harding has won its last 27 home matches, dating back to the 2011 season. It is the second longest home winning streak in the Lady Bisons history. Harding won 36 between 2003 and 2005.
Harding is coming off a 3-0 win over Ouachita Baptist on Tuesday. The Lady Bisons were led by senior middle blocker Liv Savage who had 13 kills and six blocks.
The Lady Bisons are led on the season by senior outside hitter Marindia Turner who averages 3.02 kills which ranks seventh in the GAC. Harding's offense is spearheaded by senior setter Taryn Eubank who leads the GAC in assists, averaging 10.04 per set. She also ranks second in the GAC in hitting percentage (.307).
The Lady Bisons defense is led by sophomore defensive specialist Anna Leigh Cargile who averages 4.00 digs per set, ranking her seventh in the conference. Savage ranks second in the GAC in blocks, averaging 1.19 per set. She also ranks third in conference in service aces (0.48 per set). Sophomore middle blocker Sara Smith leads the conference with a .328 hitting percentage.
As a team, Harding ranks first in the GAC in digs (17.91 per set) and service aces (1.62 per set). The Lady Bisons rank second in assists (12.23 per set) and kills (13.49 per set).
Harding is coached by Meredith Fear who is in her third season at the helm.
Henderson State
Henderson State is located in Arkadelphia, Ark., and has an enrollment of 3,981.
The Reddies head into the match with a 2-15 overall record and a 0-7 GAC record.
Henderson State has lost its last three matches. Their only wins came against Philander Smith (3-2) and Williams Baptist (3-1).
The Reddies are 0-5 on the road this season.
Henderson State is led by Jessica Moss who averages 3.36 kills per set, ranking her second in the GAC. Andjela Reljic leads the Reddies defense averaging 4.80 digs per set ranking her second in the GAC.
Henderson State is coached by Rhonda Thigpen who is in her 25th season as head coach.

The Lady Bisons are 13-2 at home against the Reddies since joining the NCAA in 1997.
