SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team swept Henderson State 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 26-24) on Thursday in Great American Conference action. The Lady Bisons improved to 11-5 overall and 6-2 in the GAC.

Harding improved its winning streak at home with the win. The Lady Bisons have now won 28 straight home matches, dating back to the 2011 season. Harding won 36 matches between 2003-05.

The Lady Bisons were led by senior middle blocker Liv Savage who had 12 kills and hit a season-high .632. She also had three services aces. Senior outside hitter Marindia Turner had 10 kills and three services aces for Harding.

Senior setter Taryn Eubank captured a double-double with 35 assists and 10 digs. Sophomore defensive specialist Anna Leigh Cargile had 11 digs.

Henderson State (2-16, 0-8 GAC) was led by senior middle blocker Jessica Moss who had 11 kills. Junior defensive specialist Andjela Reljic led the defense with a match-high 12 digs.

Harding jumped out to a 13-5 lead in the first set on six kills and two blocks. The Lady Bisons only allowed the Reddies seven more points as Harding won the set 25-12.

Trailing 6-5, the Lady Bisons went on a 12-1 run to take a 17-7 lead in set two. Harding closed the set on an 8-2 run on five kills.

Henderson State led for most of the third set but the Lady Bisons kept it close. Trailing 20-16, Harding went on a 6-2 run to tie the set at 22. The teams tied two more times before Henderson State had set point 24-23. The Reddies then had a service error to tie the set at 24. A Henderson State attack error and a Harding block gave the Lady Bisons the set and the match.

Harding hit .384 in the match which was the highest the Lady Bisons have hit in a conference match this season.

Harding will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Rolla, Mo., to take part in the Missouri S&T Tri-match. The Lady Bisons will face Truman State at 3:45 p.m., and then face Missouri S&T at 7:30 p.m.
