Corey Bassett Places Eighth, Becomes HU's First 100-Meter All-American

Corey Bassett became Harding's first-ever All-American in the 100-meter dash.

ALLENDALE, Mich. - Running into a headwind, Harding sophomore Corey Bassett became the first Bison ever to earn All-America honors in the 100-meter dash.

Bassett, a native of Plano, Texas, placed eighth in the 100-meter final with a time of 10.75, two days after setting the Harding school record at 10.43 in the preliminaries.

Tim Price, a junior at Texas A&M-Kingsville won the national championship by .003 seconds over second-place Jermaine Jones, a junior from St. Augustine's. Price won in 10.484, with Jones crossing in 10.487.
