Harding Football Falls 22-17 to Henderson State

SEARCY – Henderson State capitalized on a 46-yard Darion Gray punt return midway through the fourth quarter to score the eventual game-winning touchdown in the Reddies 22-17 victory over Harding on Saturday at First Security Stadium.

Records
Harding fell to 4-2 overall and in conference. Henderson State improved to 5-1 overall and in conference and is tied with Arkansas Tech for the GAC's top spot.

Henderson State 3, Harding 0 – 10:26, 1st Quarter – Houston Ray 24-yard field goal. 11 plays, 78 yards, 4:34. (Key play: Dallas Hardison completed a 47-yard pass to JaVante Mack on the first play from scrimmage.)

Henderson State 9, Harding 0 – 8:04, 1st Quarter – Ryan McDonald 2-yard run. Extra point was blocked. 5 plays, 38 yards, 1:26. (Key plays: Henderson State took over after a Harding fumble at the HU 38. Hardison completed a 17-yard pass to Hagen Tucker and a 15-yard pass to Joseph Snapp on the first two plays of the drive.)

Key Individual Stats
Park Parish led Harding in rushing with 86 yards on 22 carries and a touchdown. The touchdown was his 13th of the season, second-most ever by a Harding player behind only Alan Dixon's 17 rushing touchdowns in 1972.

Zach Shelley led Harding with 106 all-purpose yards. He rushed for 68 yards on 11 carries and had two kickoff returns for 38 yards.

Dallas Hardison completed 17 of 29 passes for 223 yards and one touchdown. Jaquan Cole led the Reddies with 62 rushing yards on 19 carries.

Harding defensive back Scott Middleton had nine tackles, including 2.0 tackles for loss, and blocked an extra point. Defensive back DeAndre Baines made his first interception as a Bison.
