ALVA, Okla. – The Harding women's soccer team scored two second half goals to defeat Northwestern Oklahoma in Great American Conference action on Saturday. The Lady Bisons haven't lost in eight straight games.
RECORDS
Harding improves to 6-2-2 overall and 3-0-1 in the GAC. Northwester Oklahoma falls to 2-6-1 overall and 0-4-0 in the GAC.
GOALS
Harding 1, Northwestern Oklahoma 0 – 48th minute – Audrey Adkison took a shot that was saved by the goalkeeper but fell right to Carley Stevens to clean up.
Harding 2, Northwestern Oklahoma 0 – 72nd minute – Ashley Sampson hit a cross into the box to find Bethany Suntherland for the goal.
TEAM STATS
Harding took 28 shots in the game. The Lady Bisons took 14 in each half.
It was Harding's fifth shutout this season and the second shutout of a GAC team.
The Lady Bisons held Northwestern Oklahoma to six shots, four on goal.
INDIVIDUAL STATS
Sophomore forward Carley Stevens scored her fifth goal of the season which is second on the team.
Freshman forward Bethany Sutherland scored her ninth goal of the season to lead the Lady Bisons and the GAC.
Harding senior goalkeeper Kaitlyn Miller played the full 90 minutes and had four saves.
Arlet Polack had two shots for Northwestern Oklahoma.
