ARKADELPIA, Ark. – The Harding volleyball team swept Henderson State 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-16) on Thursday in Great American Conference action.

RECORDS

Harding improves to 14-14 overall and 8-6 in the GAC. Henderson State falls to 4-23 overall and 2-12 in the GAC.

SET ONE HIGHLIGHTS

Henderson State kept the first set close until Harding went on a 12-1 run to lead 17-7. The Lady Bisons had four service aces and forced four Reddie attack errors during its run. Trailing 23-13, Henderson State tried to mount a comeback scoring four straight points but Harding had kills by Zoe Hardin and Emily Clayton to win the set 25-19.

SET TWO HIGHLIGHTS

Harding jumped out to an 11-3 lead in the second set and went on to win 25-18. The Lady Bisons had 17 kills in the set and hit .520.

SET THREE HIGHLIGHTS

Harding took a 20-8 lead in the third set. Henderson State tried to battle back but Harding's lead was too much as the Lady Bisons won 25-16. Harding had 15 kills in the set and only one attack error.

TEAM STATS

Harding sealed up a spot in the GAC Tournament last week. The Lady Bisons have two conference matches remaining to fight for what seed they will be in the upcoming tournament held in Hot Springs, Arkansas Nov. 19-21. Currently Harding is in fifth place in the GAC standings.

Harding had 44 kills in the match and hit a season high .407. It was the first time the Lady Bisons have hit over .400 since hitting .411 last season against Alderson Broaddus.

Henderson State had 32 kills and hit .161. The Lady Bisons forced 17 Reddie attack errors.

INDIVIDUAL STATS

Harding was led by senior outside hitter Molly Howard who had 11 kills. Freshman outside hitter Emily Clayton added 10 kills for the Lady Bisons. Junior defensive specialist Anna Leigh Cargile had 13 digs to lead the defense.

Freshman outside hitter Madison Poen had a season-high five service aces for the Lady Bisons.

Henderson State was led by Gabby Ginapp who had 10 kills.

Harding will be back in action on Tuesday when it hosts Arkansas Tech at 6 p.m., at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House on senior day.
