The Lady Bisons scored their second run in the fifth on a solo home run by Carolyn Clayton. It was her 10th home run of the season and ties her with Amanda Berdon for the most in a season by a Harding player. Berdon hit 10 last season.

It was the first time the two teams have played this season. The teams were scheduled to play a four-game series in Searcy February 28-March 1 but due to weather the series was canceled.
Despite being a lower seed in the game, Harding was the home team after a coin flip determined who was home and an away.
