Carley Stevens’ Hat Trick Propels Harding to 7-0 Win


SEARCY – Sophomore forward Carley Stevens scored her first career hat trick on Thursday as the Harding women's soccer team defeated Central Baptist 7-0 in non-conference action.

Harding improves to 1-2 on the season while Central Baptist falls to 0-4.

TEAM STATS

Harding recorded its first shutout of the season.

The Lady Bisons took 61 shots to set a new Harding record and a Great American Conference record. It broke the Harding record by 8 when the Lady Bisons took 53 shots against University of the Ozarks on Sept. 12, 2000. The previous GAC record was held by Ouachita Baptist who took 53 against Dallas Christian in 2011.

Harding held Central Baptist to only two shots in the game.

INDIVIDUAL STATS

Carley Stevens' hat trick was the first Harding hat trick since last season when Audrey Adkison scored three at Ouachita Baptist. It was the 19th time a Lady Bison has scored at least three goals in a game.

UP NEXT

Harding will be back in action next Tuesday, September 15 when it travels to Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas for a 7 p.m., kickoff.
