RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – The Harding volleyball team fell to Arkansas Tech 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-22) on Tuesday in Great American Conference action at Tucker Coliseum.
RECORDS
Harding falls to 4-9 overall and 1-1 in the GAC. Arkansas Tech improves to 8-5 overall and 2-0 in the GAC.
SET ONE HIGHLIGHTS
Arkansas Tech took a 9-5 lead early in the first set before Harding went on an 8-3 run to tie the set at 12. The Golden Suns scored the next four points and then the Lady Bisons pulled with one as they forced four Arkansas Tech errors. With the set tied at 22, had a kill and forced a Harding attack error to lead 24-23. A kill by Katie Huff gave the Golden Suns the 1-0 lead in the match and the set (25-23).
SET TWO HIGHLIGHTS
Harding took a 4-0 lead in the second set and then went on to lead 18-14. Arkansas Tech went on an 8-0 run behind six kills to lead 22-18. The Lady Bisons pulled within two after scoring the next three points but two kills by Hunter Eshnaur gave Golden Suns the set with a 25-23 victory.
SET THREE HIGHLIGHTS
Arkanasas Tech took a 16-9 lead in the third set before Harding went on an 8-2 run to pull within one, 18-17. The Lady Bisons tied the set at 20 after three straight kills but the Golden Suns scored five of the next seven points to win the match and the set (25-22).
TEAM STATS
Harding hit .151 in the match and had seven fewer attack errors (15-22)
Arkansas Tech hit .198 and had 46 kills. It also had 61 digs as three players finished with 10 or more digs.
INDIVIDUAL STATS
Harding was led by freshman middle blocker Zoe Hardin who had 11 kills, hit .323 and had seven total blocks (two solo and five assist). Senior outside hitter Molly Howard had nine kills and 11 digs.
Junior defensive specialist Anna Leigh Cargile had 15 digs to lead the Lady Bison defense.
Arkansas Tech was led by Hunter Eshnaur who captured a double-double with 15 kills and 11 digs. Madison Nagel had 18 digs and Kaci Jackson had 13 digs to lead the Golden Sun defense.
