SEARCY - The Harding volleyball team swept Ouachita 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-22) on Thursday in Great American Conference action at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House. With the win, the Lady Bisons sealed their spot in the GAC Tournament and stayed in first place in the GAC standings with four matches left.
RECORDS
Harding improves to 18-6 overall and 9-3 in the GAC. Ouachita falls to 16-6 overall and 8-4 in the GAC.
SET ONE HIGHLIGHTS
Ouachita jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first set and then extended their lead to 9-4 after a 3-0 run on two blocks. Harding tied the match at 13 after a 9-4 run. With Harding leading 19-17, the Lady Bisons closed the set on a 7-2 run on four kills.
SET TWO HIGHLIGHTS
Harding took a 9-5 lead in the second set before Ouachita battled back to tie set at 13. The Lady Bisons then won five of the next six points to lead 18-14. The Tigers answered back with a 4-1 run to pull within one, 19-18. Harding won the set 25-19 after going on a 6-1 run on three kills by Emily Clayton and two blocks.
SET THREE HIGHLIGHTS
The third set stayed close until Ouachita went on a 4-0 run to lead 13-11. Harding hung around as the two teams tied three more times until the Lady Bisons went on a 3-0 run on two kills to lead 23-20. After an Ouachita service error, Harding had a kill by Zoe Hardin to win the set 25-22.
TEAM STAT
It was Harding's seventh straight win at home and its fifth straight win.
Harding had 50 kills, hit .269, had 60 digs and seven team blocks.
Each team had 16 attack errors.
INDIVIDUAL STATS
Harding was led by Emily Clayton who had 13 kills and hit .455. Alex Nolan captured a double-double with 10 kills and 14 digs. Madison Poen also added 14 digs.
Sara Smith led the Lady Bisons at the net with four blocks. Zoe Hardin and Nolan each added three blocks.
Ouachita was led by Tabatha Huckabee who had 13 kills. Ashley Wake led the defense with 23 digs.

Harding will continue GAC action next Tuesday when it travels to Southern Arkansas. First serve is at 7 p.m.
