Lady Bison Volleyball Finishes Tournament Sweep on Saturday

BOLIVAR, Missouri – The Harding volleyball team swept Union and Southwest Baptist on Saturday by a score of 3-0 on the final day of the Southwest Baptist Invitational. The Lady Bisons have won their last six straight matches.

Emily Clayton, Sara Smith, Zoe Hardin and Abigail Glosup were all named to the Southwest Baptist Invitational All-Tournament Team.

UNION MATCH RECAP

Harding picked up its second straight sweep defeating Union 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-12) in the first match of the day.

HU-UU TEAM STATS

Harding had 38 kills in match and hit .309.

The Lady Bisons also had 39 digs and 35 assists.

Harding held Union to hitting .055 and forced 20 attack errors.

HU-UU INDIVIDUAL STATS

Sophomore middle blocker Zoe Hardin led Harding with eight kills and hit .250.

Alex Nolan led the Lady Bisons defense with 10 digs.

Union was led by McKenna Carter who had five kills.

SOUTHWEST BAPTIST MATCH RECAP

Harding and Southwest Baptist battled in the first set until the Lady Bisons came out on top 25-22. Harding took the next two sets 25-14 and 25-13.

HU-SBU TEAM STATS

Harding had 44 kills in the match and hit .299. The Lady Bisons had three players in double-figure digs as the team ended with 61.

Harding held Southwest Baptist to hitting .026 and forced 22 attack errors.

HU-SBU INDIVIDUAL STATS

Harding was led by Zoe Hardin who had nine kills and three blocks and hit .444.

Madison Poen led the Harding defense with a season-high 15 digs. Taylor Lake added 12 digs and Alex Nolan had 10 digs.

Southwest Baptist was led by Dana Neal who had seven kills. Bailey Baumann led the defense with 14 digs.

UP NEXT

Harding will open Great American Conference action on Tuesday when it travels to Arkadelphia, Arkansas to take on Henderson State at 6 p.m.
