SEARCY – The Harding women's soccer team tied East Central 1-1 in Great American Conference action Thursday at the Stevens Soccer Complex.
Harding moves to 3-6-3 overall and 2-3-1 in the GAC.
East Central moves to 4-4-2 overall and 1-1-2 in the GAC.
The game was scheduled to start at 7 p.m., but due to a bank of lights on a light pole being out, the game didn't start until 7:30 p.m.
GOALS
Harding 1, East Central 0 – 34th minute – Amelia Grizzell dribbled through the defense, spun around and found the lower right corner of the net for her second goal of the season.
East Central 1, Harding 1 – 62nd minute – Alexis Castillo found the back of the net from 35-yards out and off a free kick. It was her second goal of the season.
STATS
Harding took 28 shots in the game, seven were on goal.
East Central took 17 shots, seven were on goal.
In the 80th minute, Harding had two more scoring opportunities as one shot by Melanie Matkins hit off the post and Bethany Sutherland hit a shot off the cross bar.
Each team had a shot on goal in the second overtime but could not convert.
Mattilyn Reeder, Sierra Phillips and Michelle Morgan each played the full 110 minutes for Harding.
Chloe Hull from East Central had six saves in the game.
