ADA, Okla. – The 4th-ranked Harding softball team swept East Central on Saturday in Great American Conference action. The Lady Bisons won 8-0 in five innings and 10-0.
Harding won the series 3-1.
Alexus Lawellin got a hit in both games on Saturday to improve her school record hitting streak to 25 games.
The Lady Bisons improve to 38-4 on the season and 28-2 in the GAC. Harding still has a two-game lead over Southern Arkansas for first place in the GAC standings. East Central falls to 21-21 overall and 12-18 in the GAC.
Game One Key Innings (#4 Harding 8, East Central 0 – 5 Innings)
- Harding got on the board and scored two runs in the second inning on three hits and an error. Lindsey Duncan drove in both runs when she singled to right field.
- The Lady Bisons scored three more runs in the fourth on three hits. With the bases loaded, Peyton Mills hit a double to left center to clear the bases.
- Briley Feringa pitch hit with the bases loaded in the fifth inning and hit a single up the middle that scored three runs.
Game One Key Statistics
- Harding had 10 hits in the game by eight different players. Peyton Mills went 2-for-3 and Lindsey Duncan went 2-for-2.
- East Central had one hit in the game and it came in the fourth inning.
- Hannah Johnson received the win for Harding to improve to 18-2 on the season. She threw the complete game one hitter and struck out four.
- Kelbie Crelia received the loss for East Central and falls to 8-8 on the season. She pitched five innings, gave up 10 hits, six earned runs and struck out one.
Game Two Key Innings (#4 Harding 10, East Central 0)
- Harding scored five runs on three hits and an error in the second inning to lead 5-0. Madi Trump and Autumn Humes highlighted the inning. Trump had a three-run home run to center field and then Humes hit a single to right field that scored two runs.
- The Lady Bisons scored another run in the fifth when Amanda Berry doubled down the left field line.
- Harding made it a 7-0 game in the sixth when Kimmy Hendricks- Campbell hit a sacrifice fly to right field to score Alexus Lawellin.
- The Lady Bisons scored three more runs in the seventh on two hits and an error. Kimmy Hendricks- Campbell was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Amanda Berdon drove in a run on a ground out to the short stop.
Game Two Key Statistics
- Harding had 12 hits in the game led by Alexus Lawellin who went 3-for-5 with three runs scored.
- East Central had four hits by four different players.
- Autumn Humes picked up the win for Harding and improves to 19-1 on the season. She threw the complete game, gave up four hits and struck out nine.
- Lindsay Wade, who started the game for East Central, received the loss and falls to 0-4 on the season. She pitched two innings, gave up five hits and three earned runs.

- Harding will be back in action next weekend when it hosts Southern Arkansas for a four-game series. First pitched is scheduled for 2 p.m., on Friday.
