SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team defeated Henderson State 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-14) Tuesday to open Great American Conference play. The Lady Bisons improve on its best start in the NCAA era with a 10-0 record.
Harding also improves to 19-2 in home openers and 20-1 in conference openers.
Henderson State falls to 5-3 on the season and 0-1 in the GAC.
FIRST SET
Trailing 13-7, Harding went on a 9-2 run to take a 16-15 lead. Tied 18-18, the Lady Bisons closed the set on a 7-2 run to win the set 25-20.
SECOND SET
Tied 8-8 in the second set, Harding went on a 10-2 run to lead 18-10. Henderson State battled back to cut the lead to three but Harding answered back and won the set 25-19.
THIRD SET
Leading 18-12, the Lady Bisons went on a 7-2 run to win the set 25-14 behind four kills, two by Taylor Mounts.

- Emily Clayton led all kills with 11.
- Zoe Hardin had nine kills and five blocks for Harding.
- Rachel Heussner captured a double-double with 33 assists and 11 digs.
- Taylor Lake led Harding with 18 digs.
Henderson State
- Henderson State was led by Courtney Bolf who had eight kills.
- Sariah Boney captured a double-double with 13 assists and a match-high 21 digs.

Harding will take part in the Arkansas Tech Tournament this weekend in Russellville, Arkansas. The Lady Bisons will face No. 23 Washburn Friday at 1 p.m., No. 15 Central Missouri Friday at 5 p.m. and St. Edward's Saturday at 9 a.m.
