No. 13 Drury Defeats Harding Men's Tennis, Harding Doubles Team Upsets No. 6 Duo

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Harding's No. 1 doubles team upset one of the nation's top duos, but No. 13 Drury defeated Harding 7-2 Friday at the Cooper Tennis Center.

Both teams entered the match ranked in their respective regions. Drury was ranked second in the Division II Midwest Region, and Harding was seventh in the Central Region.

The big news for the Bisons came in doubles, where freshman Morgan Salvan and Alejandro Sendra defeated the sixth-ranked doubles team in Division II with an 8-6 upset of Sebastien Amato and Gregor Kokalj. It was Harding's first doubles win over a nationally ranked team since Harding's David Korsten and Andras Marics defeated 18th-ranked Maximilian Hepp and Jorge Nadal of Drury in 2015.

Salvan also continued his strong play in singles action, winning his fifth straight match to improve to 13-2 on the season. He defeated Lukas Stierling 7-6, 6-1 for Harding's lone singles point.

Harding is back in action Saturday against Nebraska-Kearney at the Cooper Tennis Complex.
