Milestones Reached in Harding Men's Tennis Victory over UAFS

SEARCY – Freshman Morgan Salvan and Harding's doubles team of Carlos Crisostomo and Luis Tirado both reached milestones in the Bisons' 9-0 victory over Arkansas-Fort Smith Tuesday.

Salvan defeated Luke Anderson 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4 singles, his 22nd singles victory of the season, and the most by a Harding player in the school's NCAA era. Salvan toppled the old record of 21, set by Darren Wade in 1997-98, Harding's first season in the NCAA.

???????Salvan is 22-4 overall. He has a 14-2 record in dual matches and went 8-2 in tournaments.

???????Crisostomo and Tirado won 8-3 at No. 2 doubles for their 20th doubles victory of the season. They became only the fourth Harding doubles team in program history and the first since Luis Garcia and Richie Roberts in 1991 to win 20 in a season.

Nat Malone and current Harding head coach David Redding hold the school record for doubles wins in a season with 26 in 1981. Vernon Lewis and Nigel Liverpoool won 22 in 1985.

The team victory gave Harding a 12-6 record and was its ninth win in its last 10 matches. The win came on senior day. Crisostomo and Adria Abella, Harding's two seniors, were honored prior to the match.

Harding's next action is also a nonconference matchup. The Bisons will take on Texas A&M-Texarkana on Friday, April 13 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
