Golubic Wins 50th Career Doubles Match; Harding Falls 5-2 to Southeastern Oklahoma

SEARCY – Harding women's tennis suffered its first Great American Conference loss of the season Saturday falling to Southeastern Oklahoma 5-2 on a chilly Saturday at the Harding tennis courts.

But senior Laura Golubic had a day to remember. Golubic teamed with Arisa Takanashi to win 8-3 at No. 2 doubles. It was the 50th doubles victory in Golubic's career, making her only the 20th Lady Bison ever to reach that milestone. Golubic and Takanashi are now 13-3 at No. 1 doubles this season.

Golubic's good day continued into singles action, where she dispatched Luisa Auffarth 6-2, 6-2 in Harding's lone singles victory. Golubic has won four of her last five singles matches with her only loss coming against Division I Nicholls State.

Harding dropped to 12-5 overall and 2-1 in conference with the loss. The Lady Bisons are back in action Monday in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, against Ouachita Baptist, and back home Tuesday to take on Arkansas-Fort Smith at 2 p.m.
