SEARCY, Ark. – The Harding women's soccer team fell 2-1 Sunday to Missouri Western in the final game of the GAC/MIAA Challenge.
The Lady Bisons move to 0-2-0 on the season.
Missouri Western improves to 1-1-0
GOALS
Missouri Western 1, Harding 0 – 42th minute – Sara Collins stole the ball from the Harding defense at the goal line and found Ashley Mathis for the goal. It was her first of the season.
Missouri Western 2, Harding 0- 48th minute – Cassidy Menke dribbled up the middle of the defense and found the lower left corner of the net. It was her first of the season.
Missouri Western 2, Harding 1 – 67th minute – Bethany Sutherland was taken down in the box and she converted the penalty kick. It was her first of the season.
STATS
Harding took 23 shots in the game, led by Bethany Sutherland who had 11.
Harding had 14 shots in the first half.
Ashton Springer started in goal for Harding and had six saves.
Missouri Western took 14 shots, eight were on goal.
