ALVA, Okla. – The Harding women's soccer team picked up its fourth shutout of the season as it beat Northwestern Oklahoma 2-0 Saturday in Great American Conference action.
Harding improves to 4-6-1 overall and 3-2-0 in the GAC.
Northwestern Oklahoma falls to 3-6-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the GAC.
GOALS
Harding 1, Northwestern Oklahoma 0 – 34th minute – Nicole Morgan took a shot that was saved and the rebound fell to Melissa Ventura who scored her first collegiate goal.
Harding 2, Northwestern Oklahoma 0 – 64th minute – Cayden Etheridge sent a through ball to Melanie Spurgeon who scored her team-leading seventh goal.
STATS
Northwestern Oklahoma had 23 shots in the game, 18 were on goal. Kaley Whitworth led the Rangers with six shots, five were on goal.
Harding took 17 shots, eight were on goal. Melanie Spurgeon led the Lady Bisons with four shots.
Jessica Woessner picked up her fourth shutout of the season. She also had a career-high 17 saves. It tied for the second most saves in program history. Cheryl Dovichak had 23 saves against Texas A&M-Commerce in 2005.
